Readability Scoring Browser Extension – Score Text on Any Website


Our browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge lets you quickly score text on any website.

Once you install our browser extension, make it visible on the toolbar. Click the “puzzle piece icon” and click the thumbtack to pin the extension to the toolbar. You’ll see our Readability icon.

Score the readability of text on any websiteIf you’re using Microsoft Edge, click the “eye” icon to pin the extension to the toolbar.

Here is how the extension works:

USE #1:
Click on the icon any time you want to go directly to the Readability Scoring System app to use your own text.

USE #2:
Highlight text on any website that you want to score, and then right-click your mouse to show the shortcut menu. You will see 3 options:

  1. Score Text Readability: click this option to score the highlighted text. Our app will analyze and score the text using 9 popular readability formulas.
  2. Robert Gunning Editor: the highlighted text is directly imported into the Robert Gunning Editor so you can begin editing it.
  3. Word Stats: show word stats for the highlighted text.

Highlight text on any website that you want to score, and then right-click your mouse to show the shortcut menu.

Remember: always highlight text FIRST or the shortcut menu will not appear.
